Mediumship is the aspect of John's work which is the most controversial. However, it is the area offering the most comfort to clients. The phenomenon of receiving information from crossed-over loved ones is the most compelling area of psychic work. The proof of life after death and the validation of information creates an environment for healing among those still living. This is the area in which John's work excels.
The ability to recognize a spirit and understand the information being communicated is a gift developed over many years. As a medium, John can recognize the "presence" of another entity by sensing the differences in energy around the client. The communication from a spirit may come in many forms. It can be visual, sounds, creation of feelings, smells, tastes, etc.
There can be many individuals communicating at the same time. Crossed-over relatives, spouses, siblings, children, friends, and acquaintances can all be present in a reading. A family reunion can spontaneously occur when a medium tunes into the energy of a client. He must, at that point, decide which information is the most important to be communicated.
The information provided to John by a spirit can vary. It is not uncommon for them to communicate their last moments on earth before crossing over. They often recount the people currently with them as well as those who were there to greet them on the other side. The moment of death is a liberating experience to most, but it can be a time of concern as well.
As a medium, a suicide, for example, is not a pleasant experience to witness. The challenges of a person in the living do not suddenly disappear when a person chooses to take his/her own life. The life issues transfer and appear to be emphasized in the after-life. A medium cannot provide all of the answers to complex questions or situations, but it is clear that suicide should not be the option of choice when crossing over.
It is not surprising to learn that when John is experiencing a trauma associated with the crossing of an individual, it takes a toll on him physically. The feelings of anguish, fear, and even pain can be felt. It is not to the degree of the subject, but it can be exhausting. The experience can be physically and emotionally draining.
Not all experiences, however, are traumatic. Many are very fulfilling to the medium as well as the client. Many people communicating are humorous, providing entertainment by recounting events in their lives. Pets are also a source of entertainment when they make their presence know to the medium and others in the room.
Finally, a reading can be accentuated with objects and pictures. The energy imprint remains on objects after a person has crossed over. This imprint can be read very clearly by John.
