The Virgin Mary and Her Ministry of Service

The famous composer/musician Paul McCartney wrote the song, “Let It Be,” from a dream he had about his mother, Mary. The words of the song were from his experience, and he wrote it because his mother always stood by him and never faltered with her support. He said he did not mind that the lyrics of the song, coincidentally, reminded others of the Virgin Mary, her personality, and her ministry of service.

The Virgin Mary has directly and indirectly influenced history with her apparitions and through the devotion of others since the time of Christ. She has been a “link” between ancient times and us, and her virtues have been consistent. It is her constancy that has given hope and inspiration to millions for the past two thousand years!

A Mother’s Love

Mary has intervened in special situations and when there was hardship. The message that she conveys is not unlike other mothers who stick with their children no matter what! A mother may be the first to criticize you and the last to give up or leave you in crucial times.

The love of a mother is sometimes the only remaining hope a person has when they feel rejected or left behind. A mom can give you the security that does not exist elsewhere. Her presence gives a sense of normality and that a brighter future is possible.

Rejection by a mother or a mother figure is particularly painful. The sense that your person of “last resort” is not there is difficult and can leave a scar for life. It depends upon the circumstances but the loss of support from mom is a grief like no other. This grief may only be matched when mom passes away and can no longer be there for you.

If you do not have a mother or mother figure, or you have been rejected by your mother, it is Mary who can help in filling the gap with the love you may feel you are missing. You are not alone, and her direct and indirect presence in history has given countless people the comfort that only a mother can give.

It is no surprise that Mary is remembered for an entire month, May. She is a person revered by the toughest men and women during history and serves as the model of a perfect mother. She possesses a quality or virtue that can be admired by anyone seeking guidance in their life. Her character model is part of her ministry.

Mary’s Personality Traits and Her Many Names

The role of Mary has been scrutinized, diminished, and even dismissed during the centuries since Christ but her presence has remained. It is her relentlessness that has given believers another reason to love her. While her relentless nature is well known it is for her gentle and kind demeanor that she is best remembered.

There are at least 26 different names that are attributed to Mary, but the most recognized is “The Lady in Blue”. Each of them marks a particular aspect of her ministry. Whether she is serving as an example, performing miracles, or simply giving encouragement, people have been grateful for her intercession.

Mary’s presence has been felt and recognized through the ages. It is the timelessness of her intercessions that has been remarkable and worth noting. Her personality is positive, decisive, and nurturing all at the same time.

She has never asked for praise or demanded to be worshiped. It is clear she is a person who promotes her Son and the messages He represents. Mary’s work is solely for the purpose of service to God.

It is easy to choose an incarnation of her work to emulate. The appeal of Mary goes unnoticed today because of our high-tech complicated world but the agelessness of her actions persists.

Mary and Metaphysics

Today, there is a growing interest in developing psychic and mediumship skills. The appearances and signs that Mary has shown people throughout history validate these skills, but they have not been without problems. Many false claims have been made about apparitions of her just like there are many today about other spirits and signs that are presented to people. It causes problems for the genuine events that are recounted.

Authenticity is important because skeptics will quickly claim fraud or give another explanation of a supernatural event. Mary’s appearances to individuals were widely denounced by authorities and powers that be at the time. The faithful, however, persevered, and time proved they were right.

You may experience a vision or experience a miracle in your life but are afraid to share your experience due to the potential backlash. She usually appears as a silhouette of a woman who is clothed in a veil, or a veiled woman dressed in blue. It does not have to be Mary who appears to you because the Spirit world is very connected to the physical world you live in and it is a privilege when the Spirit world reaches out to you.

The paranormal, spirit guides and the supernatural are popular nowadays but in many respects, there is negativity associated with these phenomena. Acceptance is growing, but the positive side of these types of experiences is being ignored. They are not publicized because they are not sensational, and most people keep their experiences private.

Mary is a “link” to modern metaphysics and has served as a perennial reminder of the paranormal, spirit guides, and supernatural behavior. She influences and ministers in lives today and does so with direct and indirect signs of her presence. It is all in part of her service to her Son and not for her personal glory. You may have your own service or ministry that can be fulfilled metaphysically.

Recognizing signs in your life is a good thing. Mary’s presence validates your abilities and gives you permission to use your intuitive skills to act on matters in your life. She may appear to you and demonstrate some of her personality in some cases so be prepared if you get a jolt from her!

Mary Today

When Paul McCartney used his dream about his mother to write the song, “Let It Be” it was not a song about the Virgin Mary. It was about his mother, Mary, but he said he did not mind if people took it as a song about the Virgin Mary. The lyrics of the song may have accurately described Paul’s mother and her devotion to her son, but it is certainly a metaphor for the Virgin and her Son.

The lyrics to the song are the following are here to read and meditate upon:

When I find myself in times of trouble Mother Mary comes to me Speaking words of wisdom Let it be

And in my hour of darkness She is standing right in front of me Speaking words of wisdom Let it be

Let is be, let it be Let it be, let it be Whisper words of wisdom Let it be

And when the brokenhearted people Living in the world agree There will be an answer Let it be

For though they may be parted There is still a chance that they will see There will be an answer Let it be

Let is be, let it be Let it be, let it be Yeah, there will be an answer Let it be

Let is be, let it be Let it be, let it be Whisper words of wisdom Let it be

Let is be, let it be Let it be, yeah, let it be Whisper words of wisdom Let it be

And when the night is cloudy There is still a light that shines on me Shine on 'til tomorrow Let it be

I wake up to the sound of music Mother Mary comes to me Speaking words of wisdom Let it be, yeah

Let it be, let it be Let it be, yeah, let it be Oh, there will be an answer Let it be

Let it be, let it be Let it be, yeah, let it be Whisper words of wisdom Let it be

The words of the song ring may ring true if you have experienced trouble in your life. It may have been your mom who stepped up to help you when no one else was around. Paul McCartney wanted to give tribute to his mum for her unwavering support for him.

Mary, the Virgin, is the default standard for the love a mother gives to her children. You do not have to be Catholic, other Christian faiths, or have any other belief systems because she is around. She can appear to anyone because she does not consider your faith or lack of it. She does not care.

You are a child of the Creator, and her support is relentless and constant. She has demonstrated extraordinary character in her physical life and has appeared many times since it in times of trouble. You do not have to believe in her for her to believe in you.

Today we need models that we can count on because nothing is certain, and everything is “on the table.” Politics and changing values present challenges that have never been experienced on such a large scale. Although Mary may not be considered neutral, she presents herself with timeless virtues that are needed in our environment.

The evidence of Mary’s presence has been verified in ancient and modern times. She is a guide, character model, and standard by any measure for everyone. If you experience her energy, you will understand why she has been venerated throughout history and today.

You may not realize it, but she cares, is looking down at you, and is vigilant from her heavenly home. It is good to know that somebody up there loves you!
